Reporting: Data Quality - Scoring and Grading for the Data Completeness Report

The information provided by the HMIS Data Completeness Report is intended to help you make corrections to client HMIS records within Community Services. Please contact the AKHMIS Help Desk for the fastest response to any questions.

Score

Score is calculated by comparing the number of complete/valid client responses in a record to the number that a 100% complete record would earn.

Score = Numerator/Denominator

Numerator = Sum of points a records data earns

Denominator = Sum of points that a complete record would earn

The denominator (expected number of points for a client record) depends on:

  •          Age
  •          Head of Household status
  •          Currently in-program or exited
  •          HMIS Project Type
  •          Prior Living Situation (data element 3.917 and dependencies)

GRADE

Grade is based on the enrollments score (percent correct/complete):

A = 94 and above

B = 86 to 93

C = 78 to 85

D = 70 to 77

F = 69 and below

Denominator Point Matrix

The table below is a breakdown of the how the required point total (the denominator) for an enrollment is determined. The top row is type of enrollment, and the left-most column lists the data element.

The table body provides if that type of enrollment is scored on that data element:

  •          A data element that is required and scored is represented by a black X.
  •          A data element that is not required and/or not scored is represented by a grey hyphen (-).
  •          A data element that may be required and may be scored has a blue X to represent that scoring is possible and the table column is labeled with the determining factor in italics.
