Data Entry: How to Record Federal Reporting Information

Head of household and Enrollment CoC

The Federal Reporting Requirements information affects all federal reports that providers submit to HUD. If answered incorrectly, a clients data will not be included in a providers federal report submissions.  

In HMIS, there can only be one individual in every household who is selected as the Head of Household. The Self (Head of Household) is the person who qualifies themselves or their household for services.

Enrollment CoC is based on the Continuum of Care location in which a service is being provided. In Anchorage, the Enrollment CoC is AK 500 Anchorage. In Alaskan communities other than Anchorage, the Enrollment CoC is AK 501 Alaska Balance of State. A Balance of State CoC includes non-metropolitan areas and includes some or all of a state's rural communities.
