Data Elements: V4 Percent of AMI (SSVF Eligibility)

Data Element

The provider records the household income as a percentage of Area Median Income (AMI). Select a category based on the SSVF Income Eligibility Calculation.

Options:

  • 30% or less
  • 31% to 50%
  • 51% to 80%
  • 81% or greater

Data Element Type

V4 Percent of AMI (SSVF Eligibility) is a U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) Program Specific Data Element and collection is required for SSVF RRH (Rapid Re Housing) & HP (Homelessness Prevention) projects.

Collection Point

Project start. Please note that although ‘81% or greater’ is a VA Data Guide – FY 2024 response category defined in the HMIS Data Standards, households with income 81% or greater than the Area Median Income are ineligible for SSVF

Why It Matters

This is used to determine the eligibility for SSVF programs.
