HMIS 101: 4.13 Date of Engagement

Definition

The 4.13 Date of Engagement is the date an individual becomes engaged in the development of a plan to address their situation. The date of engagement can be after one or more contacts with a street outreach project of a night-by-night shelter. Only one date of engagement is allowed between the project start and project exit dates. If the project did not establish an interactive client relationship before the exit, Date of Engagement should be left blank.

Collection Point

Occurrence Point = at the point of establishing an interactive client relationship.

Returning clients

If a client returns to the project after being exited from the project, a new enrollment should be created. A new 4.13 Date of Engagement should be added to the new enrollment once the criteria for engagement has been met.
